Tuesday Cocktails

So Clayton (my landlord/flatmate/mate) suggested that being a Tuesday night and the place down the road was BLOODY expensive, we should attempt to make cocktails (it seemed logical at the time). A quick serach of what would be a sweet cocktail to attempt on our first go, we decided that a Pina Colada was in order.

So we got ourselves a bar tender (Tung (pictured) - he was cheap, and Daisy was good fun as usual too) and the required ingredients to make the first cocktail tuesday a success. That we didn't have any of the right equipment didn't stop us, ingenuity meant that a pasta storage container made the perfect shaker, and it's been fairly warm, so the ice in the drink was quite plesant (we did have a strainer at hand either).

definately make a difference. While not a bad first attempt, a second attempt wasThe first batch was pretty good, although two things meant it missed the mark slightly, firstly the Pineapple from the IGA supermarket wasn't ripe, secondly we didn't think (or know how to make) sugar syrup would in order. So a quick call to Noosa, and we knew how to make Sugar Syrup (add 1/4 cup sugar and 1/3 cup water, heat and mix).

Round 2. mmmmmm, delicious.

So, after a few rounds of Pina Colada's a decision was made - Tuesday nights will from here on be cocktail night. We still need a name (Tippler Tuesday, Tuesday Toast and Wicked Wednesday came up, but may have been premature after too many Pina Coladas), and it's definately not set in stone (ie other things on Tuesday are/might be important, and cocktails aren't confined to just Tuesdays) but seems like a pretty good decision all up.

Good news too - after the night had finished up, Clayton decided to take something around to his sister's and managed to get a cocktail shaker! So some feedback would be appreciated - Round 2. Any suggestions for cocktails? Names for the night?
